When we recently moved to live in Wexford we were determined to find ourselves not only a nice home but one with a lovely garden blooming with colourful flowers, mature trees and shrubs where we could relax and enjoy our leisure time. We looked at many fine houses and occasionally discovered lovely gardens … but finding them together proved to be virtually impossible! That was when we made our decision to buy the house we really wanted and then find some way of quickly creating a garden by adding plants, mature trees and shrubs.
At first we didn’t have much success asking friends and neighbours and scouring the local press – then I thought of searching online. I found a few design landscaping companies but they seemed more interested in creating airy fairy concepts with huge inflated prices to match. What we wanted was someone who would freely give us down to earth professional advice without the usual pressurised sales pitch. We also wanted to be able to choose from a wide variety and excellent selection of healthy plants, mature trees & shrubs. We needed a companythat was prepared to come along; advise on what would be best for the site, also prepare the ground, plant where we wanted things planted and tidy up afterwards. This we wanted done quickly without mess and all at an agreed price we could afford … no nasty surprises on the invoice!
When I found Kinbark nurseries online I was instantly impressed with their down to earth range of products and services – including mature trees and shrubs, transplanting, bark mulching etc. It seemed straightforward, practical and easy to understand. Charlie Kinsella answered the phone and quickly reassured me that everything we wanted was possible and he invited us to visit Kinbark Nurseries. When we did we were made very welcome and shown around the entire site. With aid of a rough sketch I’d made we outlined the sort of thing we wanted and Charlie explained how it could be achieved … and all within our budget.
Charlie came to visit us and survey the site. A week later he and his ‘Ground Force’ team moved in and within two day they had completely finished. On the rear lawn they created a sweeping Rockery lined with trees, shrubs and rocks and finished it off with a rich, dark brown bark mulch. Not only would it suppress the weeds but it lookedfantastic. As a lovely finishing touch Charlie added a wooden archway with trailing honeysuckle and wisteria.
The uninteresting front lawn was quickly transformed into an instant garden with a fine selection of mature trees, plants and flowering shrubs – again in a bed of rich bark mulch. To complete our wishes Charlie planted two magnificent copper beeches standing one on either side of the entrance. They’re going to look wonderful through spring into summer and for many, many years to come.
